For over fifty years, we have been proud to offer a quality program for children ages 3-5 that meets the ever-changing needs of our diverse community. The goals of Park Nursery School are to promote motor development, independence and self-confidence, and to extend and increase avenues of self-expression in order to provide a secure transition from home to kindergarten. The school provides an atmosphere which facilitates learning through play as well as periods of directed learning. The environment is one in which limits and consistency create security, warmth and acceptance which helps to build a positive self-image. Creativity and independence are fostered through art activities where the process rather than the product is emphasized.
Park Nursery School is committed to providing a quality program, with a focus on safety, care and cognitive development. We will ensure the health and safety of students in our care by providing individual personalized care and affection for each child. We believe that children should learn through their own discovery. Our classroom is child centered and we use hands on activities, discussion and critical thinking to develop knowledge. We acknowledge that all children learn differently and may need accommodations and modifications. We will stress open-minded thinking that provides developmentally appropriate learning strategies. We will respect all people who enter our facility.
